STIPENDS

Each US participating student will receive financial assistance to help with language training ($1500) and travel arrangements ($3000).

What students might expect:

 

An orientation provided by the Office of International Programs and the SFSU Gerontology program director.

 

To be placed in selected shared housing with a member of Sixty Plus. So far we have 4 interested families and we have scheduled an orientation meeting with the families on June 6th.

 

 

Language and culture

 

What students might expect:

To possess a satisfactory knowledge of English language such that they might understand the seminars, participate in class discussions and be placed in a community-service learning or internship experience if they wish.

 

English as a second language (ESL) classes to be available via SFSU, or we will assist the students in arranging for private tutoring or City College classes if s/he arrives early prior to the fall term.
